Telling Your Kids About Divorce

Believe it or not, no matter how old your children are, when they learn about your divorce, they will at some point think that it’s their fault. Some kids get the idea that if I had just kept my room cleaner, or if I’d gotten better grades, or if I eaten everything on my plate, maybe this thing wouldn’t have happened. Keep that in your mind, because you are going to want to reinforce for your children that there is nothing that they did to make your marriage move to the place that it is at now. They had nothing to do with that.
